Breastfeeding problems
See your physiotherapist to evaluate and treat various problems related to breastfeeding; such as, breast abscess, nipple lesions and any other inflammation of the breast. Furthermore, she would be able to evaluate any infantile factors that may be hindering harmonious breastfeeding; such as, torticollis, plagiocephaly, poor breast latching or even the presence of muscular tensions (jaw and/or neck of the baby).
In addition your physiotherapist can advise you about latching technique, the efficacy of your baby’s feeding as well as the optimal breastfeeding position for you.
In order to better prepare you for this step in maternity your physiotherapist is capable of advising you on preparing for breastfeeding during the prenatal period.
