What to expect during treatment<\/h2>\n

Lymphatic drainage is a technique generally using gentle, slow movements, varying according to the method used. This approach uses gel or massage oil on the body in the same manner as a typical table massage.<\/p>\n

This technique consists of gentle movements made with the fingers and palms of the hands over the body or in a specific area. The movements are made in the direction of the lymphatic circulation.<\/p>\n

Lymph (a clear fluid) circulates in lymphatic vessels and structures called lymph nodes. These nodes filter waste products produced by the body. When there is a malfunction of this system the lymph does not drain properly.<\/p>\n

Qualified massotherapists know how to use manual massage techniques which stimulate circulation of lymph and interstitial fluid in the body creating a pumping effect of the lymph due to the changes of pressure applied to the body.<\/p>\n
